Savranska N. Ethical and Philosophical Analysis of Charity.

The dissertation deals with ethical and philosophical analysis of charity that is described as pro-social practice functioning in society. Charity's historical types and modern specifics are defined, conceptual and category apparatus is specified, charity theoretical models are given. The way in which charity activities realize in practice moral values and principles (justice, mercifulness, active love, responsibility) is examined, and charitable activity directions are studied. Individual, collective, personal and professional charity forms are analyzed. Charity connection with state social policy is investigated, corporate philanthropy is studied. Charitable activities' three societal functions such as decrease of existing social harm, improving of social being in society, accumulation of social capital, are considered.
