The dissertation defines the peculiarities of the Ukrainian linguistic purism in synchrony and diachrony. Purism is characterised as a multifaceted phenomenon that is inherent to the standardisation and reinterpretation of current norms. Peculiarities of the Ukrainian Language purism lies in the systemic character of purism manifestation: in sound system, morphology, derivation, lexicon, idioms and syntax.
