The research is devoted to law regulation of some elements of legal status of Ukrainian militiamen in 1920th. The specificity of realization of these legal norms in that historical period is shown. Special research of legal tatus of Ukrainian militiamen in 1920th as of a legal institute was conducted for the first time. It is assessed the possibility of implementation into contemporary legislation of legal norms which determined this status in 1920th.
