Shchepka O. Functional-semantic field of comparison

The research work presents the complex investigation of the Functional-semantic field of comparison (FSF) of comparison in current Ukrainian language and the gradual determination of its structural-grammatical and semantic-paradigmatic peculiarities. Special attention is given to syntactical, morphological, lexical, word-building, phonetic, and analysis of peculiarities of its functioning as different-level units which form the FSF of comparison. The FSF of comparison has two microfields: microfield of likeness and microfield of difference. Every microfield, their core, semi-peripheral and peripheral layers are determined. Correlations/uncorrelations and explication/implication of comparison are found out. The work contains statistical observation on quantitative and qualitative usage of comparatives in lexicographic works of the XX - the beginning of the XXI centuries.
