The scientific thesis is devoted to the research of the applicable statute as the special sort of legal acts. The author gives the definition of the applicable statute, investigates its legal nature, the gist and functions, peculiarities of composition, legal technology and stylistics. The main ways of the content improvement and forms of applicable statutes are defined responsively to the foreign experience and international standards. Rocommendation of Ukrainian legislature are given in the thesis.
