Kurchiy D. Creative work of Mykhailo Lomatskyi: the world of ideas and characters, genre and stylistic features.

In this thesis M. Lomatskyi's creation is investigated for the first time. He was one of the most Ukrainian prosaic and publicists of the 20-th century, whose literary heritage as well as his biography belong to the scope of the art of the word penetrated by the national idea . Researching the prose of M. Lomatskyi we would like to emphasise firstly the adventurous and heroic type of the biography of the character, which is predetermined by the inclination of the writer towards romantic and neo-romantic sensation of the world and showing the national type of a knight, of a person of "active mind". The sketches of the author are remarkable with the representation of the ideal type of love, which has nothing in common with "market existence". The characters of those sketches are representatives of "vita maxima" and are first of all independent personalities. The artistic strategy of the writer (including the one in his dramatic work) is based on individualism, which is incompatible with dogmatic soviet literary criticism with its principal of the masses and unification of receptions of art.
