Essay

The results of studying of the main visual functions, neuroimmune observation of 165 patients with myopia before and after their treatment by phosphene-electrical stimulation of the visual analyzer are described. The following patients' visual functions were improved after treatment: visual acuity, visual acuity in dusky conditions, reserves accommodation and light sensitivity. Phosphene-electrical stimulation procedure activates specific and nonspecific neurostructures in patients with myopia. Cardiovascular system functioning (because of integral vegetative index) normalization was observed after this treatment. The frequency of 15 impulses per sec is considered to be the optimal for the visual functions improvement in patients with myopia that is proved by the comparative analysis of the visual functions improvement, the indexes of visual analyzer functional activity, the time of sensory-motor reaction decreasing as well as immunologic reactivity dynamic parameters in conditions of different patterns of phosphene-electrical stimulation. Immunodulating effect of visual analizer eklectrical stimulation also was observed. It was displayed in normalizing the relation of T-lymphocytes subpopulation, increase of phagocyte activity of leukocytes, in decreasing sensitivity of immune regulatory cells to noradrenalin and adrenalin, in normalizing of T-cells specific reactivity to antigens of the retina and lens of the eye.
