Barabash-Revak O. The linguistic image of a parubok in the Ukrainian folk-lore and ethnographic texts.

It is the first time in the Ukrainian ethnolinguistics as the reference model of the linguistic image of a parubok is created and the structural-semantic and axiological analysis of language means of folk-lore and ethnographic texts is carried out. These means represent the proper descriptions of the concept of a young unmarried man. On the basis of analysis of 1064 units of the illustrative material it was set, that the steady linguistic image of a parubok in the consciousness of the Ukrainians takes into account all possible aspects of his interpretation by the people: appearance, functions, actions, time and place characteristics, also the image exposes semantic schemes which contain parubok's general knowledge. This linguistic image of a parubok is a well-organized structure of characteristics - both added from a perspective of cognition and from a perspective of beliefs, norms and opinions.
