Essay

Object: the stock of Polish set phrases with animal names. Aim: analytical survey of the composition, semantics and structure of the Polish set phrases with animal names including proverbs. Research methods used: synchronous-descriptive, historical- etymological, confrontative- typological, linguocultural and „words and things” methods as well as componential analysis. Novelty of the work: the first attempt in Ukrainian Polish studies to comrehensively investigate of the Polish set phrases and proverbs with animal names from the viewpoint of their linguistic and etnocultural properties. Practical significance of the work: its possible use in lexicography and Polish teaching in college.
