Kolgan O. Semantic and word-building structure of the Ukrainian mining terminology

Object of the study are mining terms. Objectives of the thesis include investigation of the ways of formation and development of mining terminology, study of its lexical-semantic derivation peculiarities. Methods used in the research include descriptive-analytical method, analysis of components, statistical analysis. Scientific novelty: the thesis is the first to theoretically ground foundations of mining terminology formation, to analyze its foundations and ways of formation and development, to study semantic differentiation and peculiarities of mining terminology functioning. Theoretical significance: in the thesis ties between mining terms and the history of Ukrainian terminology are traced. Field - philology.
