Essay

The dissertation is devoted to synthesis, investigation of the rules in absorption, fluorescence, NMR spectra, and stability of polymethine dyes based on boron difluoride complexes of 3-acetyl-4-hydroxypyranones and 3-acetyl-4-hydroxypyridones. Synthetic methods have been developed which afford boron difluoride complexes of 3-acetyl-4-hydroxycoumarin and a number of anionic symmetrical, and merocyanine dyes have been derived from them. Introduction of the dialkylamino group in the coumarin core of such dyes results in the batochromic shifts of absorption and fluorescence maxima accompanied by a significant increase in their intensities and stability towards bases. Non-linear properties of dyes based on boron difluoride complexes of 3-acetyl-4-hydroxy-7-dialkylaminocoumarin have been investigated. A number of dyes based on the 7-dimethylaminoquinolone core have been obtained. It has been shown that spectral properties change only slightly on passing from coumarin to quinolone dyes, although hydrolytic stability increases. A number of dyes based on boron difluoride complexes of 3-acetyl-4-hydroxypyranones and 3-acetyl-4-hydroxypyridones have been synthesized. The reaction of dyes derived from dehydroacetic acid with amines and proteins has been investigated. For such merocyanines, this reaction results in opening of the pyranone system, and formation of highly fluorescent dyes. The regularities have been found between the structure, spectral properties, and stability of the dyes obtained.
