In thesis research it was made of the first attempts in domestic jurisprudence of the systematic research of the history of legal and organizational principles of the hypothec institute in Ukraine during X-XXI centuries. The most important historic prerequisites of the hypothec institute origin were established, its nature, conception and matter was determined, the specificity of the hypothec institute formation on Ukrainian land was disclosed.
