Essay

This thesis is dedicated to the peculiarities of intellectual intertext in Evdokia Humenna's prose. The genealogical specificity of essay and subjected works of the author are researched during this research. Author's works are analyzed by form, material and content. Formally, they have scientific structure. Also, some particular figures (further transformed into full valued figures in subjected essay) and poetic language assets are not typical for popular scientific literature. Essay belongs to popular scientific literature by the material and content, because they are based on the hypothesis of the author and other researchers, but not on the facts like it is done in science fiction. D.Humenna essay can be found similar by genre to some works of Olexander Horbovsky, Aizek Azimov, Yuriy Shylov and Yuriy Kanygin. The works of Herodot, M.Grushevsky, M.Rudynsky, B.Rybakov, Metropolitan Illarion, F.Vovka, M.Sumtsova, M.Marra, O.Potebni are also taken into the analyses of the popular scientific literature. The dissertation depicts the methods of intertext realization in the essay: the author adds its own thoughts to the existing hypothesis, gives its own views on the basis of origin source, reinterprets other texts. The specificity of essay scientific intertext can be explored in conintertextual aspect, when the system of writer's views are investigated in plan of synchronism and provide exploration pretexts as far as posttexts. The process of getting more aesthetic and intellectual in science fiction genre can be traced in the author's works as an example. It was found, that popular scientific works (essay "Bless me, Mother", "Family album", "The Past flowing to the Future") were transformed into science fiction, because the author realized scientific concepts in novels and stories, and later encoded scientific ideas into artistic figures and topic. That is why such texts need additional explanations and are marked as intellectual in the thesis. The analogy between Humenna's plot fiction and the world-knownscience fiction, which can be determined as intellectual prose, can be found in author's work (O.Huksley, R.Shekley).
