Essay

The research work analyses W. Dilthey's transformation project of historical knowledge. It is a critical review of the historico-philosophical process as “an anarchy of systems” and of its possible schematization which is meant to prevent the consequences caused by schematized projects of the classical European metaphysics. The thesis highlights certain points which favourably display the advantages of W. Dilthey's historico-philosophical doctrine over the neo-Kantianism conceptions. The research also investigates the differences between W. Dilthey's and Hegel’s models of interpreting the historico-philosophical process, understanding the goal and objectives of the historico-philosophical research and the place of the History of Philosophy in the system of sciences. The thesis has theoretically reconstructed the historico-philosophical content of W. Dilthey's philosophico-hermeneutic doctrine. There have been analysed the conditions of forming W. Dilthey's historico-philosophical ideas, theoretical andmethodological problems of the History of Philosophy interpreted by the German philosopher as well as his contribution to the world’s History of Philosophy. The ideas developed by W. Dilthey are considered to be an important step towards the formation of the European History of Philosophy of the 20th century. There has been also established their theoretical value for further development of the national History of Philosophy.
