Tsisar N. Secondary Nomination in Ukrainian Medical Terminology.

The thesis is devoted to investigating the secondary nomination as one of means for creating Ukrainian medical terminology. Complete lingual analysis of term - secondary nominations in onomasiological aspect has been applied for the first time; the main concepts of secondary nomination "onomasiological base" and "onomasiological feature" have been characterized; the terminological compounds are characterized by inseparable metaphorical or metonymical relations between their components; a methodology of analyzing secondary term motivation is proposed; the main principles for normalization of medical term - secondary nominations are elaborated.
