Kusyi L. Myhailo Taran'ko - editor and publisher of Ukrainian periodical and book series for children and youth (1919-1939)

This Work examines the editorial and publishing activity of M.Taranko (1887-1950) for the children and young people. Special attention is given to the analysis of structure and content of the journals "Svit Dytyny" ("The World of Child") and "Moloda Ukraina" ("The Young Ukraine"), and examination of their problematic - subject directions, genre specific character and conditions of functioning. The type and form structure and thematic spectrum of M. Taran'ko's book series "Ditocha Biblioteka" ("Children's Library"), "Biblioteka dla Molodizhy" ("Library for Youth"), "Biblioteka "Molodoji Ukrainy" ("Library of "The Young Ukraine"), "Povisteva Biblioteka"("Narrative Library"), "Popyljarna Biblioteka" ("Popular Library") is analyzed and shown the innovation of his several publishing projects. The repertoire of M. Taran'ko's publishing house is reconstructed as well as his biography.
