Essay

In the 85-295 К temperature range the opticоspectral and luminescent-kinetic characteristics of pure and activated PbI2, CdI2, CdBr2 crystals have been investigated at optical, nitrogen laser and X-ray excitations. The electret states in PbI2 and thermo- and photostimulated opticophysical processes in PbI2, PbI2:Mn2+, PbI2:Cd2+, PbI2:Eu2+ crystals have been studied. The influence of Cl-, Br-, Pb2+, Eu2+, Mn2+, Сo2+, Ni2+ impurities on emission processes and lightsum storage in CdI2 crystals has been determined. The Mn2+-centers sensibilizated emission has been revealed and investigated in CdI2:MnCl2,PbI2 and CdI2:MnCl2,EuCl3 crystals. The mechanisms of photochemical transformations, the nature of luminescent centers and trapped centers have been established in CdBr2:Cu,І crystals. The effective CdI2:MnCl2,EuCl3 scintillator and CdBr2:CuBr,MnCl2,SnCl2 photosensitive material have been obtained.
