The object - the English language learning-communicative activity of students majoring in economics. The aim - grounding and probating pedagogical conditions of forming English language competence of students majoring in economics by means of computer-assisted technology. The methods of investigation - theoretical, empirical, diagnostic, statistical. The practical results - experimental computer-assisted technology for forming English language competence of students majoring in economics has been worked out. The novelty - pedagogical conditions of forming English language competence of students majoring in economics by means of computer technologies have been grounded for the first time; the content, criteria and levels of development of a future economist's English language competence have been defined; the teaching process content of teaching English for professional purposes with the help of computer technologies has been structured; the notions "professional-communicative competence", "information-cognitive competence" have been specified; the teaching content of the subject "English for economic departments" has been improved; methodology of computer-assisted teaching English for professional purposes has been further developed. Degree of application is high. The sphere - pedagogical, higher educational economic institutions, distance and postgraduate education.
