Zherdets'kyj I. Foliar fertilizing as a method of increasing sugar beet productivity in the left-bank part of the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine.

The Thesis deals with the results of research of studies on regularities of formation of productivity and yield quality of sugar beet depending on foliar application of macro- and microfertilizers under agroclimatic conditions of the left-bank part of the forest-steppe zone of Ukraine. The obtained results gave the possibiling to determine the optimal rates, time and forms of application of macro- and microfertilizers, which in its turn positively influenced value and duration of the functioning of assimilative leaf surface, reduction of plant affection with diseases of leaf apparatus, quantitative and qualitative composition of sugars, content of light-absorptive pigments, indexes of photosynthetic activity of crop stands and efficiency of the use of nutrient elements from fertilizers. Perfection of the above-mentioned parameters has guaranteed yield increase and amelioration of indexes of technological quality of sugar beet roots. Economic and energetic expediency of foliar fertization of sugar beetwas grounded.
