Ternova A. The formation of word-building structure and semantics of the plural nouns in the New Ukrainian language at the end of the XVII and the beginning of the XXI century

The object is the suffix subsystem of the nouns of the Ukrainian language at the end of the XVII and the beginning of the XXI century. The aim of the work is the complex research of the plural nouns in New Ukrainian Period. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that it was the first attempt to research the dynamics of lexical and word building types of the plural nominations, to define functional peculiarities of the plural formants, to examine the specificity of such derivatives in the sources of different styles and to define the main tendencies and laws in the development and formation of the word building subsystem of the plural nouns during three centuries. The practical value of the received results is in the fact that they can be used in lexicography in order to compile special and general dictionaries, to prepare theoretical courses, manuals and workshops in the Ukrainian language history, historical word building and modern Ukrainian language.
