Essay

The dissertation highlights theoretical and methodological fundamentals for the study of interlingual asymmetry. Innovative methodological principles for contrasting asymmetric linguistic signs in two distantly related languages (English and Ukrainian) were implemented. Ukrainian decompressemic formations in contemporary bilingual dictionaries for special and general use were classified. Five regular types of decompressemic asymmetry in modern fiction were elucidated. Allomorphic and isomorphic peculiarities of the linguistic signs under consideration were determined with regard to the occasional decomressemic deformations at the formal and cognitive levels. Also, decomressemic English markers were determined.
