3. The thesis is devoted to the theoretical problems and development of phenomenological sociology. In order to clarify gnosiological interconnections between different groups of concepts within this system, an author made a typology of its category-conceptual apparatus. As a result he marked out six groups of concepts and their central categories: "social action", "relevance", "meaning", "stock of knowledge", "life-world" and "theoretical attitude". It was a first step. The second was examination of the concept "legitimization". Legitimization can be defined as a process of explanation and justification of existing social and status relations. The final aim of these, is the maintenance of the cultural hegemony of the symbolic universe by turning its system of meanings into something that is taken for granted - making it a part of the natural attitude of the social actor.
