Dissertation is devoted to the studying of chephalgia problem in children, in particular of tension-type headache pathogenesis in school age children. The purpose of this research work was to improve differential treatment methods for this condition. The epidemiological peculiarities of cephalgia in school age children of Western Ukraine were indentified. The cephalgia syndrome structure was analyzed in hospitalized children and it was shown that tension-type headache was the commonest disorder. The clinical features of tension-type headache were enlightened. The possible role of hypomagnesaemia was shown in pathogenesis of chronic tension-type headache, and its potential connection with nondifferentiated dysplasia of connecting tissue was found. Specific patterns of bioelectric cerebral activity and brain circulation, as well as increased levels of autonomic nervous system tension and anxiety were indentified. The differential treatment schemes were proposed for the children with chronic tension-type headache depending on their age.
