Dmitrenko O. Directive Speech Acts in Publicistic Discourse.

The thesis provides a complex analysis of semantic and structural as well as communicative and pragmatic features in publicistic discourse directive speech acts using printed texts of Ukrainian newspaper periodicals for the decade from 1998 until 2008. The directive speech act structure was defined as an addresser will expression directed at an addressee's fulfillment of a specific action in future. The pragmasemantic types of directives features were identified including prescriptives, requestives and suggestives. Language means of inducing expression and means of directive speech act structural organization in speech genres of publicistic discourse were analyzed. The directive speech acts interaction with publicistic discourse and its speech genres was indetified. Specific character of dialogicality realization in publicistic discourse was established. Modification peculiarities of pragmatic meaning of directives were clarified.
