The work is dedicated to investigation of the Ukrainian legal terminology in ХХ century. The main tendencies of term-selection, the sources of term-forming, special features of loan-terms, the problem of synonyms, the term-place in the vocabulary entry are highlighted on the material of the Ukrainian legislation (laws of Central'na Rada, Het'manat, Soviet and contemporary Ukrainian legislation) and legal terminological publications (reference literature and academic legal-term dictionaries of the different periods the end of ХІХ - ХХ - the beginning of ХХІ centuries.)
