3.Thesis for the candidate of medical sciences degree in specialty 14.01.10 - Pediatrics. Danylo Galitskyi Lviv National Medical University, the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine, L'viv, 2009. The thesis is devoted to elaboration of effective approach to management of newborns with congenital malformations (CM) and high risk of hereditary pathology. Peculiarities of early clinical course and postnatal transition were compared in infants born to mothers from a high risk group for congenital and hereditary pathology in their offspring's and in newborns with "model" CM. The overall average incidence of CM in L'viv region for 2001-2005 was 392,88 per 10000 newborns with the incidence of "model" malformations of 27,26 per 10000 newborns. It was established that in comparison with infants born to TORCH-infected mothers and women with a high hereditary risk the newborns with CM had the highest risk of desadaptation with reliably higher incidence of impaired condition after birth and later morbidity. The majority of newborns with cystic fibrosis (73,9 %) had clinical sighs of the disease in the first days of life and only in 26,1 % of cases the early neonatal course was unremarkable. Recommendations on effective neonatal care for the newborns with a high risk of congenital and hereditary pathology were elaborated and proposed.
