The paper provides insight into the conflict, characters, and peculiarities of character-building in Lyudmyla Starytska-Chernyakhivska's drama works. The main features of the writer's world-outlook and specificity of her poetics are pointed out, the system or ideological imperatives, implicated in her texts, is reconstructed, which allows to demonstrate organic integrity of her creative works with the practice of national narration at the beginning of XX century.
