The PhD thesis is devoted to the new methods of information retrieval about presence and gravity of turbulence in the rain zone with use of Doppler-polarimetric weather radar. The new method of turbulence contribution into measured Doppler spectra estimation is proposed. The new methodology of rain rate estimation algorithm correction by use of polarimetric parameters, which are sensitive to rain microstructure, is proposed. The use of combination of classical Doppler parameters with polarimetric and Doppler-polarimetric parameters is proposed for real-time turbulence detection and analysis. The correlation between turbulent motion and Doppler spectrum shape distortion (skewness and presence of multiple peaks) has been discovered. The turbulence detection and estimation by analyzing of Doppler spectrum shape methodology without estimation of spectrum moments is proposed.
