Essay

This works develops and research Doppler-polarimetric radar system with enhanced turbulence detection abilities. Analysis of existing methods and facilities of remote atmosphere sounding for receiving meteorological information has been done. Necessity of using new meteorological parameters has been proven. Mathematical model of signal reflected from precipitation zone taking into account polarization, scatters orientation and turbulence have been developed. This model allows research Doppler-polarimetric parameters in rain. Model adequacy has been proven by experiment. New meteorological parameter spectral differential reflectivity has been investigated, its characteristic - inclination angle to linear part allows estimate turbulence intensity. Usage of this characteristic together with existing ones allows increase probability of correct turbulence intensity detection.
