Shulga O. Prognostic criteria of the course of ischemic stroke

It has been presented the results of complex examination of 105 patients suffering from acute ischemic stroke with localization of infarction in the carotid and vertebro-basilar region including clinical monitoring, using of clinical scales, computer tomography, Dopler's investigation of brain vessels, biochemical analysis, complex statistical analyses of obtained data. It is determined that the course of the disease has been defined not only by the localization and the size of brain infarction, but also combined action of risk factors, the mechanism of brain infarction development, patient's age, the level of consciousness and neurological deficiency during income, the level of functional dependency in two weeks. Determining the course of the disease on the basis of factors of complex statistical analysis, it has been elaborated mathematical pattern for effective system of prognosis of functional outcomes of ischemic stroke in 6 months that allows planning treatment and rehabilitation of the patients and assisting prevention of possible complications in different periods of the course of ischemic stroke.
