Essay

It is theoretically grounded and experimentally tested in the dissertation that the system of improving the speaking skills of students of the 5-6th forms during the Ukrainian Language classes - worked out by the author - stimulates mastering speaking skills and creating oral dialogues and monologues in accordance to a speaking situation on the conscious level. There are also skills that have to be developed and pedagogical conditions that will make the pedagogic work be more effective have been defined, analyzed and interpreted in the dissertation. Besides, the Lingual-Didactical Model of the content of work in the sphere of improving speaking skills has been created. The results of the scientific research have convincingly proved that improving the speaking skills will be more effective if the following requirements are satisfied: the systematic approach to the pedagogical work is followed; the gradual transition from mastering a special terminological conceptual apparatus to producing oral dialogues and monologues of different styles is realized; optimum methods and means of teaching are selected; new technology is put into practice; individual personal and age peculiarities are taken into consideration. Experimental approbation of the scientific assumption formulated at the beginning of the dissertation has proved that the proposed system of tasks and exercises make language conceptual knowledge be deeply comprehended, communicative skills be formed, moral characteristics be educated and emotional development be steadily continued.
