Essay

The data about the vegetative nervous system condition and psychoemo-tional sphere at patients with herniated disc of the lumbosacral part of the spine before operative treatment are obtained; influence of these indicators on development of the failed back surgery syndrome. Before operation 50.5% of pa-tients had increased tonus of simpathetic department of the VNS. The change of interrelation of sympathotonia - 37.1%, eutonia - 49.5%, parasympathotonia - 13.4% was revealed after the operation. The data which display dependence of quality of life after lumbar microdiscectomy on the type of vegetative regulation are obtained. Unfavorable prognostic signs of development of the failed back surgery syndrome are following: more than 3.0 points according to a visual analogue scale, less than 18 points according to the scale of the Japanese orthopedic association at the postoperative period, a combination of stable high personal and situational anxiety, parasympathetic stigmatization.
