Essay

The dissertation contains results of theoretical and empirical research of peculiarities of religious notions in the context of attitude towards parents. Content of basic notions was disclosed and their interrelation was presented; basic theoretical approaches to formation of religiousness and religious notions were considered and systematized. Translation and adaptation of separate methods was done. Having done empirical research and having processed data using mathematical and statistical methods it was discovered that religious notions of representatives of the same religion (in our research - Christianity) may substantially differ and be interconnected with attitude towards parents. Beliefs about parents (about relationships with them) are shifted to notions about the Absolute and predetermine specific attitude towards Him (God the Father, Mother of God and Jesus Christ (central figures of Christianity), towards the religion in general and towards non-religious mystical teachings. Positive attitude towards parents contributes to formation of the understanding of the Absolute. It was four out that attitude towards both parents predetermines specific notion about God the Father and Jesus Christ, and notion about Mother of God reflect attitude only towards mother.
