Essay

Thesis is devoted to development of low-waste and resource-saving technology of purposeful water hardness reduction in low-capacity and medium-capacity installations. There were studied influence of various properties of cation-exchangers and conditions of sodium cycle on the extent of water softening and technical and economical performance characteristics of the process; there was proved a possibility to reach deep and partial water softening by changing these factors; the optimal conditions for these processes were found. The pilot trials under designed optimal regimes were made and bounds of methods applicability were defined. On the basis of working results installations for deep and partial water softening were developed and implemented for batch production. The engineering and economical comparisons of developed installations with existing installations were made. There was developed automated design system for low and medium capacity sodium cycle installations.
