Zayinchkovska O. Microtoponymy of southern-eastern Podillya (on the material of Kirovograd region)

A complex research of microtoponymy of southern-eastern Podillya (on Kirovograd region's material) is done in the dissertation for the first time. It is used over 3000 names which are gathered by means of field records and the way of questioning the respondents. Lexico-semantic analysis of geographical names is done. The structure of microtoponyms, their derivational peculiarities is investigated. It is revealed the ways of word-building, which are characteristic for microtoponyms. The productive formants and models of microtoponyms are determined. The volume of onymic and appellative vocabulary, that serves as the source basis for microtoponyms is determined. It has been established that the geographical terminology and antroponomic lexicon were prevailing in the basis of microtoponyms, while simple form was to mostly be found within structural varieties. Morphological is the main way of forming names. The principles of microtoponyms comparing with microtoponymy of other Ukrainian region are described. The dictionary of microtoponyms has been compiled.
