This dissertation being theoretical and empiric research focuses on leading factors and peculiarities of the development of professional identity of students in practical psychologist speciality. Basic approaches to the study of the phenomena of identity and identification have been analysed. The essence of the concept of professional identity has helped to outline the processes of professional self-determination and self-organisation. The cognitive, emotionally-evaluated and behavioural constituents of professional identity of a psychologist providing the progress of his activity as a specialist-practical worker have been defined. The research discovers the dynamics of forming the defined constituents in learning process in higher educational establishment. The results of the research determine the implementation of the training program based on the principles of active socially-psychological studying providing the effective way of the development of professional identity of future psychologists. The dissertation highlights positive changes in the selected constituents of professional identity of experimental group under research.
