Object - chronic lumbosacral radiculopathy in coalminers and efficiency of their rehabilitation. Purpose - to develop and substantiate rehabilitation complex for coalminers with chronic lumbosacral radiculopathy on the basis of hygienic assessment of working conditions and study of morbidity and clinicoroentgenological features of the disease. Methods - hygienic, clinical, physiological, roentgenologic, medical-social, statical. Novelty - hygienic characteristics of the work of coalminers with chronic lumbosacral radiculopathy have been determined for the first time; features of clinicoroentgenological disturbances and their influence on the life quality have been established; hierarchy of occupational risk factor for the development of chronic lumbosacral radiculopathy in coalminers has been substantiated; the main risk factor for the development of chronic lumbosacral radiculopathy has been considered to be the level of work hardness; prediction model of severity of the chronic lumbosacral radiculopathy course has been developed. Results - new rehabilitation complex for coalminers with chronic lumbosacral radiculopathy has been scientifically substantiated, developed and introduced; multiple-factor prediction model which enables to select the high risk group of the development of chronic lumbosacral radiculopathy and to estimate the severity of the disease has been developed. The introduction of the developed rehabilitation complex has enabled to reduce the hospitalization period of coalminers with chronic lumbosacral radiculopathy. On the basis of the established mechanism of influence of harmful factors of occupational environment on the development of chronic lumbosacral radiculopathy in coalminers the perfect complex of preventive measures which contributes to reduce the level of incapacitation among them has been developed. It has been introduced in MTPI Donetsk Regional Clinical Hospital of Occupational Diseases, Donetsk Regional Clinical Territorial Medical Association, Sanatoria and Health Center "Mayak", Evpatoriya, "University Clinic" of M. Gorky Donetsk National Medical University, and applied in educational process at DNMU. Branch - Medicine (Hygiene and Occupational Pathology).
