Essay

The results of investigation of the physical processes determined the electrical, optical and photoelectric characteristics of thin-film CdS/CdTe solar cells and direct conversion X-ray imaging detectors are presented. The parameter values in their combination for achieving the maximal possible efficiency of n-CdS/p-CdTe heterostructure have been found. The potentials for implementation of thin-film CdTe structure with Schottky diode in direct conversion X-ray imaging detectors are elucidated.
