Essay

The objective is related to the process of professional training of students at higher pedagogical institutions of education; the purpose is to reveal the impact produced by scientifically substantiated technique applied for training the students studying the design engineering at the pedagogical higher institutions of education on the levels of their preparedness for the professional-&-pedagogical activities; the methods are theoretical, empirical and statistical; the novelty consists in that the integrated technique used for training a future teacher of a natural and mathematical specialization knowledgeable in design engineering was substantiated and experimentally tested for the first time; the definitions of “design engineering”, “preparedness for design engineering”, the criteria and indexes of preparedness of students for design engineering have been specified; the results are as follows: two special courses “Basics of Design Engineering” and “Geometric Modeling” highlighting the problems of training the students for design engineering and developing the graphic skills in students have been developed and introduced in practice.
