Essay

The dissertation deals with the political analysis of the problems of information security during globalization. The research is based on theoretical and methodological studies of the problem, generalization of the views of Ukrainian and foreign political scientists and on the regulating documents of the United Nations General Assembly, the UN Disarmament Commission and the UN International Civil Service Commission.The work studies geopolitical problems of the international cooperation in information security; it gives the typology of information threats to the international peace-keeping system, analyses the strategies of the international security within the intergovernmental organizations, such as the UN, G8, the Organization of American States, Council of Europe, Organization of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and proves that information as a new global type of mass destruction weapon, disastrous in its outcome, requires an international mechanism resisting and preventing global information wars within the authority of the international safety and defense organizations as well as political decisions on the international level. This understanding made it possible to perceive the phenomenon as integrity, thereby broadening its epistemic frame.Based on the analyses of the institution principles of ensuring the policy of international information security, prospects of Ukraine in resisting information threats were determined and recommendations for political and public institutions were given
