Piddubna V. Polonisms in the Ukrainian lexicography of 1920s – 1940s.

Object - lexicographic record of borrowings from Polish; objective - identification of the Polish loanwords and study of their assimilation in the Western and Central-Eastern varieties of the standard language, methods - historico-comparative, confrontative, descriptive, oppositional semantic analysis; novelty - systemic analysis of borrowing from Polish, results - an analysis of the lexicographic sources from the 1920-40s with respect to the presence of borrowings from Polish is offered; the criteria for identifying Polonisms in Ukrainian are elicited; the Polonisms are examined from the point of view of semantic typology, of their morphological characteristics as well as of their integratedness within the varieties of Standard Ukrainian; the graphic, phonetic, morphemic, morphological and semantic modes of adaptation of the borrowings in Ukrainian are investigated; domain - lexicology, lexicography.
