New complexes of 3d metals and gadolinium with carboxysubstituted phenoxyl, nitronyl nitroxyl and pyridylverdazyl radicals were obtained, their crystal structures as well as free radicals structures were determined. Cyclic voltammetry and electron paramagnetic resonance studies of obtained compounds revealed that coordination of carboxysubstituted radicals to more soft metal ions resulted in the increasing of radical lifetime. Magnetic properties of complexes were simulated corresponding to the determined crystal structures of compounds. It was shown that in case of trispyrazolylborate complexes of Mn(II) and Co(II) with p-carboxynitronyl nitroxyl the magnetic exchange between paramagnetic centres is weak ferromagnetic. Thin films of new thiofunctionalized nitronyl nitroxyl radicals on gold(111) were obtained, their magnetic properties were sdudied by means of electron paramagnetic resonance.
