Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the comprehensive analysis of M. Yatskiv's works as integral modernist phenomenon in the Ukrainian and foreign literary synchronous and diachronic context. Two mutually determinative levels were synthesized and revealed in his prose; they lie in the field of the modernist canon: concepts, images and motifs, which are fundamental for writer's subjective ontology (with its antropologism and metaphysics), and the search of new communication (verbalization of states of characters' silence, an appeal to literature interaction with overlapping arts of music, painting and sculpture) too.
