The peculiarities of artistic embodiment of the topic of Petrovskiy's reformations in Russian historical prose of the 1st half of the 19th c. are analyzed in the investigation. The origin of the ideological "model" of Petrovskiy epoch in Russian literature is identified. The particularity of the individual creative perception of the image of Peter I and his epoch in historical prose of A. Kornilovich, I. Lazhechnikov, F. Bulgarin, R. Zotov, N. Kukolnik, and others is disclosed. The variants of the artistic interpretation of Peter's I theme and his reforms are examined as an esthetic basis of national state self-identification of the epoch. The origin of the historical and philosophical plots of Petrovskiy discourse and forming parts of the cultic portrait of the first Russian Emperor are analyzed. The conceptual peculiarities of the author's perception of the Petrovskiy epoch are investigated in connection with creative key points of the Russian belletrists, the particularity of the artistic actualization of history is reflected by. Principles of form- and- content organization of "Petrovskiy" historical prose, namely the ways of individualization of psychological characteristic in the context of the image forming tradition, the peculiarity of plot-and-composition construction, and the ways of solution of the problem of individual typification on the level of linguistic structure of the creative works are covered.
