Essay

The research object: hypertonic stress and hypertonic cryohemolysis of mammalian erythrocytes. The research aim: the study of the effect of amphiphilic compounds on sensitivity of mammalian erythrocytes (human, equine, bovine, rabbit) to the changes of environmental osmotic and temperature conditions, as well as investigation of antihemolytic activity of amphiphiles under the conditions of hypertonic stress and hypertonic cryohemolysis of erythrocytes with modified cytoskeleton-membrane complex. The research methods: spectrophotometric method, light microscopy method, ionometric method. Amphiphilic compounds have been established to significantly increase the resistance of erythrocytes of different mammalian species to hypertonic stress and hypertonic cryohemolysis. The research findings testify to the fact that antihemolytic activity of these substances depends on their physical and chemical properties, osmotic and temperature conditions of environment, as well as on composition and state of cytoskeleton-membrane complex.
