Essay

Object: recombinant subunits of diphtheria toxin. Aim: obtaining and modification of recombinant subunits of diphtheria toxin and investigation of the practical application of recombinant proteins. Methods: molecular biology, immunological, biochemical, cell culture. The recombinant subunits of diphtheria toxin have been obtained as well as fluorescent derivatives of subunit B. The immunogenicity and antigen properties of recombinant subunits have been studied. The method of practical usage for detection of antibodies to different subunits of diphtheria toxin was proposed. Subunit B have been defined as protective antigen in the case of immunization animal susceptible to diphtheria toxin. Field of application: biomedical institutions.
