The work analyses the meaning of the notions “deputy” and “parliament”, which allowed distinguishing general characteristics of the notion “deputy of the parliament”. It also clarifies the meaning, essence and correlation of the notions “constitutional status of a deputy”, “constitutional and legal status of a deputy”, “legal status of a deputy”, “status of a deputy” and lays down certain proposals and recommendations regarding improvement of the current legislation of Ukraine that regulates the legal status of a people’s deputy of Ukraine.
