Essay

The thesis is devoted to studying the theoretical basis of codification of legislation. The author's definition of notion "codification of legislation", "principles of codification", "codification technique" is presented, author's understanding of "decodification of legislation" is given as well. The peculiarities of codification are classified into two groups: those which are typical for codification activity as a type of rule-making only and those which are characterize the codification as one of form of systematization. The analysis of legal nature of codification acts is made; the place of the code in the hierarchy of legal acts is defined.
