The content and metodology of forming the senior pupils' artistic and design knowledge and skills in the process of designing and making the apparel are theoretically grounded and experimentally checked. The essence of the concepts "artistic and desing activity", "artistic and design knowledge and skills" is revealed, their structure is determined. The crtiteria are eleborated and the levels of developing the artistic and design knowledge and skills are determined, the module "Foundations of clothes designing" is developed. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is proved.
