The category of historicism and Roman Ivanychuk's stylistic studies of prose. The objectives are to study novelist' historiosophic worldview, his search in genre, composition, imagery and style in the representation of the critical times in the Ukrainian history. For the first time all the novels by this author are studied, including his most recent works such as "The Fire Pillars". This analyses has formed the foundation for study of Roman Ivanchuk's fiction as a complex, for understanding author's concept of Ukraine and identification of aspects of nation building process. Methods applied: сoncret-historical,comparative-tipological and others. Can be applied in the higher education.
